There are a number of reliable resources to reference when creating a Charter for your school. The following links to resources on the Internet are recommended. A Charter is a legal document that will petition an agency to sponsor your school. It will describe your school program and practices. A Charter contains a statement of assurances, a description of an educational program, a statement of expected student outcomes aligned to State Standards, methods of assessing student progress toward expected outcomes, a description of governance structure, employee qualifications, health and safety procedures, admission requirements, methods for financial and programmatic auditing, a dispute resolution process, oversight, reporting, and renewal procedures.
